Getting binhex-sonarr and binhex-jackett connected together - issues with linking potentially

Featured Replies

I may not be in the exact right place to post this but I thought I would give it a shot somewhere at least.

So here's my current setup (also I am not an expert by no means) -

Have binhex-sonarr setup for the most part but have not been able to add any indexers from jacket etc.

binhex-jackett is utilizing the binhex-qbittorrentvpn docker for internet by an extra parameter of --net=container:binhex-qbittorrentvpn so that all traffic gets passed through VPN in the qbittorrentvpn.  With this setup I can't utilize the UI for jackett at all (even if I try to go directly to the port).  I did add the jackett port to the qbittorrentvpn settings as well.

I sucessfully utilize the jackett indexers in binhex-qbittorrentvpn but I can't get it setup as an indexer in binhex-sonarr.

I've tried removing jackett from qbittorrentvpn and just allowing it to get on the web on it's own (without vpn).  No matter what URL or API key i've used so far from jackett, it just says something like it can't connect.

It does get a bit frustrating as the only way I can get to the jackett webUI is to remove it from the qbittorrentvpn connection, look at it all in the webui, and then put it back (so that I can get the torznab url and the api key again for sonarr).

I guess theres really two questions.

1. Any suggestions on why I can't get to the UI for jackett with binhex-qbittorrentvpn being connected and passing it's internet through to jackett container, even though spaceinvader basically said you should be able to if you opened that port up on trhe bittorrent side and then going directly to the port address.

2. Any suggestions on getting jackett to link to sonarr?  I have heard of linking the containers somehow potentially through a command or through docker compose but I don't know even remotely where to start on trying to do that. I have have docker compose manager installed but have no idea how to utilize it quite yet properly.

Anything else I can provide just let me know.

I appreciate any or everyone's help and hope your day is going well!

This would be better posted on the container(s) support thread:
