Marc70
Hi All, I'm happily running a unraid server, recently i acquired a new 'Second hand' server. Currently this server is running a single e5-2630V3 cpu, and I am thinking of replacing this with a e5-26xx V4 model. I am thinking of e5-2650L This CPU has less powerconsumption, more cores, in general more CPU power, but the single core speed is lower. Will unraid benefit from this CPU or has the lower single thread speed a negative performance impact on unraid ? Thanks in advance ! Quote Link to comment

Depends on what you are running. Much of the base file server functions seem to be single thread, but containers and VM's can use multiple cores to great advantage. Quote Link to comment
Marc70
That what I had in mind, most important role is fileserver. So les performance per threat, but on the other hand more cores = more threats.. Quote Link to comment
