UNRAID SERVER CRASHES RADOMLY

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Diagnostics attached; 8/26 version is created by UNRAID server after one unclean shutdown. I can’t find Diagnostics for last time, so I put log saved from my syslog server instead. And I also download newest Diagnostics after reboot.

English is not my first language, so if my description confuses you, please let me know, thanks.

My UNRAID server randomly crashed for several months. Every time I found the situation, the only way I can do was press the power button long enough for one force-shutdown and reboot the server.

Last week when I used windows 10 with VM, suddenly it occurs that disk became READ-ONLY, and I can’t save anything. I tried to reboot it but failed. I tried to reboot my UNRAID server, and found the array failed to start because my cache pool failed.

Yesterday I replaced the cache pool, from SATA SSD to Nvme SSD. But it crashed again!

It was so disgusting to me that the crash occurred again and again!

Please help to solve the situation so I can convince myself to continue using UNRAID.

There are several call traces logged but they don't give an idea of what the problem is, at least not to me, start by running memtest, if no errors one thing you can try is to boot the server in safe mode with all docker/VMs disabled, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one.
