Unraid unable to boot using IBM M1015.

Featured Replies

This is a new installation on old hardware.

ASRock Z97 fatal1ty with an i7-4790 and 16Gb of DDR3 and passing memtest.

I have an IBM M1015 reflashed into an LSI/Avago SAS9211-8i in IT mode with FW version 20.00.07.00-IT.
The card has been working fine in TrueNAS for a while.

My USB key was made using Unraid.USB.Creator.Win32-2.1.

I tried the below version :

Next-6.12.4-rc19

Stable-6.12.3

Stable-6.12.1

I tried booting legacy and UEFI and it always get stuck near those messages,
I tried C State Support ON/OFF.

Here are some screenshots : Images on Imgur

Any help would be appreciated.

Does it boot without the HBA? Also try a different PCIe slot if possible.

I was expecting it to be the PCIe card but no, same issue with the card out...
This led me to start removing things one by one and finally I found it.

I have a few old SSD that I plugged to hopefully use and one of them seem to be causing it.
Once I removed it, it booting right up, I will try to find out why one SSD can cause that, might be corrupt or weird partition might be left on it.

Thank you for questioning the obvious, this led me on the right path.
