August 30, 20232 yr Hello everyone, I am writing to you because I have a rather strange problem. In order to use some devices on the KVM I bought a PCIE usb 3.0 card, "SupaHub, PCI-E to USB 3.0 card" which seems to have a Renesas uPD720201 controller. There are some problems though, some devices don't show up and/or disconnect after a while. The most egregious example is the DAC that stops working and mutes until I reboot. Looking in Device Manager I found that the usb card reports, "Unknown USB device (connection in conformance mode)" and in properties it has error 43. This error is also reported without any devices connected. Can you tell me what I can do to fix the problem? Has this ever happened to any of you? I would like to keep the possibility of return as a last option.
August 30, 20232 yr Author Solution Recreated a VM with i440 and the problem disappeared. Also isolated a couple of cores and passed them to the VM. Changing from Q35 to i440 fixed the isue with the USB device non recognized, isolating the cpu fixed problem that USB device where streaming video and audio were choppy.
