August 30, 20232 yr Hi at all, when I use the mandatory unraid drive encryption for my array, are the drives encrypted to my USB drive (where UnraidOS is booted from)? Meaning: If my usb drive was broken oder my HDDs got stolen, is it possible to de-crypt the data? best wishes.

If you have encrypted drives then you need to provide the key when the array is started as the key is not stored on the flash drive (unless you yourself put it there). You can then read encrypted drives on any Linux system outside Unraid if you know the key, but not without it.
August 30, 20232 yr Author how do I provide the key? currently I am using windows with bitlocker. works like a charm, because TPM module provides the keys. how does unraid do this?
