September 9, 20232 yr Hello i had an issue with my Hardware and ended up having to upgrade my Motherboard and CPU. I was having some power issues with one of my drive while in the system and found that it was randomly dropping power. As i was tempting to rebuild a drive it would never rebuild. So i was going to replace the power supply with one that had more direct Sata connectors instead of Molex to sata adapters. When i went to change the power supply i noticed a broken connector on the motherboard and the device wouldn't power on. so i went to replace the motherboard and ended up not paying attention to the CPU specs and bought a board that didn't support my AM4 Rysen 5 2600. I ended up upgrading the CPU to a AM4 Rysen 5 5600. I also got a 2tb M.2 to replace the 1tb SSD Cache Drive and a 12tb HD to replace my 8tb Parity Drive. Granted i will have to swap out the Cache drive to free up the Sata Connector for the 12tb before i can install the new parity drive due to motherboard connector limitations. After doing the swap i found that the new PDU was DOA and had to put the other back in. Everything started up and i Set my Unraid USB as Boot after enabling CSM and Unraid booted. Now this is where the Nightmare has started. My Unraid is no longer named, it is currently named [Tower] formaly [Demonreachunrai]. I was able to trigger the rebuild of the replacement drive 2. My Lic is no longer Showing and when i attempt to re-add it the system states that i have no connection to the lic server. i can't use the Apps store because it states no connection. My Dockers started at first but after one reboot they wont start stating that the Server error. After the drive rebuilt, i had whole lot of drive errors on disk 1. When the rebuild finished i restarted the server and Disk 1 will no longer come up and i cant start my array witht he system stating 'invalid, missing or expired registration key'. After rebooting i did have to I followed similar article to resolve this issue with the network issue, but i didnt get it resolved. I can Ping the Unraid for another computer, I can ping other devices from the Unraid such as my pc and the gateway. I can ping both Google DNS servers which is what my DNS is set to. I have restarted my Unraid device multiple times and am getting no where on this. At this point i dont know what to do I feel i might have lost Drive 1. This would be fine if i could get the Cache drive moved over to another drive and rebuild the parity drive on to the 12tb and then rebuild disk one on too the current 8tb parity drive for the time being. I have updated the motherboard bios to the most current update. Attached is Diagnostics file Please help im at my wits end with this right now tower-diagnostics-20230909-1344.zip Edited September 9, 20232 yr by Drezzden865 more info
September 10, 20232 yr Community Expert Rename/delete /boot/config/network.cfg to return LAN settings to default DHCP and reboot, also make sure date and time, including time zone, are correctly set, then post new diags.
September 10, 20232 yr Author Ok i used the terminal to navigate to that file and renamed it .bak and restarted the server. I logged back into the server at its new location and went into the Date and time in settings. I was able to adjust the Time Zone and date i had to change manually. I was then able to add my registration key. The docker apps started and are running but not at the right ip so i change the static back to the original. i got the error that the disk was 'unmountable: wrong or no file structure' on disk 1 and 2. I was able to run xfs_repair -v /dev/md2 but the drive came up empty even tho it rebuild yesterday. Is there a way to trigger a rebuild manually? New log file attached tower-diagnostics-20230910-1257.zip
September 11, 20232 yr Community Expert Disk1 is still not mounting, post the output of xfs_repair -v
September 11, 20232 yr Author xfs_Repair -v Cleared both drives and they are both showing empty even tho disk 1 is not showing up in the unraid. I lost the data and cant figure out it there is a way to cause it to rebuild manually on disk 2 But im guessing its a moot point as parity ran last night even tho i had it turned off Edited September 11, 20232 yr by Drezzden865
September 11, 20232 yr Community Expert If there's data missing it suggests the problem likely happened before what the diags show, you'll need to restore from a backup if availbale.
