September 10, 20232 yr Hopefully this will help others that are new to unraid. I am confused about the file system. For example: I have Frigate setup as follows: /mnt/user/appdata/frigate12/ /mnt/user/media/frigate12 I then look for this folder in Krusader and I see that /mnt is empty. Yet when I click on /media I see the appdata and other folders under this folder? I look in the docker and I see the following setting (below). This must have been the default as I didn't specify it and I see that it is required. I know that appdata is actually located at /mnt/user. So why wouldn't it just appear there? And I installed QDirStat and I see nothing under /mnt. Likely a permissions issue but after searching I can't see how to change that? Thanks - getting to understand this will very helpful.
September 10, 20232 yr Community Expert Containers have no direct access to host paths. To access host data, the host path must be mapped to a container path. Containers see host paths at the container path they are mapped to, and have no other way to access host data. https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/manual/docker-management/#volume-mappings

Same with QDirStat? Point of disclosure: I have used Bixbin-Krusader in the past but I have now uninstalled it because I find that the Dynamix File Manager does a better job handling user data files! Take a deep breath at this point. It is not the best idea to use Krusader containers to manage files in the Unraid system file structure. It is intended to manage user data files. You will be doing a lot more editing of the Container proprieties then just changing or adding Host Paths before you will be able to do that! (The container is deliberately set up by the Author to prevent the user from being able to do what you want to do!) If you are looking for a GUI type interface use the mc (Midnight Commander) program that is a part of the standard Unraid OS. You can run it with the following command in a GUI terminal window: mc If you want help with using it, just Google--- mc file manager ---and you will find all types of assistance--- videos, tutorials, manuals. Also this type of question should be asked in the support forum for the Docker container that you are using. For the Binhex -Krusader container, that forum link is: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/71764-support-binhex-krusader/ If you go to the above support forum, you will probably find the answer to your questions in getting things set up to use it as a general file manager for the entire Unraid file system. But be careful if you are not reasonably knowledgeable about Linux and its file system, how Unraid installs itself, and that many edits that you can make in the Unraid OS file system are not permanent!
