6.12.3 Cache drive shows as Unmountable: Unsupported or no file system

Featured Replies

I recently noticed that my cache drive is showing "Unmountable: Unsupported or no file system". As a result, Docker is showing "Docker Service failed to start." and all installed apps have subsequently stopped running. I'm now looking to recover what I can from the drive (mainly appdata).

I'm a bit lost when it comes to troubleshooting Unraid issues and could use some help here. I've gone to Tools > Diagnostics and have attached the full zip. Would anyone be able to guide me to next steps, please?

If the log tree is the only problem this may help:

btrfs rescue zero-log /dev/nvme0n1p1

Then re-start the array and post new diags.

Cache drive is no longer showing as Unmountable, which is great, but Docker is still failing to start.

Updated logs attached.

This got me back up and running, thank you so much!

Was there any clue about the original cause of my problem? Do I need to be worried about my cache drive dying on me again? Should I start looking into replacing mine?

Most often it's caused by an unclean shutdown, but in some cases this issue has been known to reoccur, if it does the fix should work again but then recommend to backup and re-format the pool, also make sure now that backups are up to date.

Some of your appdata went to the array when cache wasn't working. Also, system share should ideally not be on the array either so dockers will perform better and not keep array disks spunup.

Nothing can move open files so you would have to disable Docker and VM Manager in Settings to get these moved.
