September 13, 20232 yr At the risk of over-beating a subject... Well, I've certainly taken myself down a rabbit hole here, but it's going to be fun to finally get this ball rolling. After watching countless videos (a special shoutout to SpaceInvaderOne), I think I am nearly ready to take the plunge and one thing keeps running through my mind. ZFS vs XFS for my cache drive? I do know that my device array will be XFS as that seems to make the most sense, for me. The plan is to start with a 3 x 4tb drive array with 1 x 4tb parity in XFS. The cache will be a single 1 x 1tb SSD. The system will serve as a media server/data backup and possibly run vm's and dockers.
