Why is unraid making USB drive read only?

Having issues with unraid this morning it says the USB drive is read only. Why does unraid switch the drive to read only?

 

If I pop the drive in a windows machine I can read/write whatever I want.

    I fixed this problem.....It makes zero sense to me. Created a backup of the same USB drive that said was read only. Then used the unraid tool to restore the backup and now it can be written by unraid. What in unraid is deciding its a good idea to make a drive read only with no way to undo that?
