How to remove ssh key and go back to password

Featured Replies

I have all my drives encrypted and used spaceinvaders method of putting the ssh key on the usb drive just for easy use. With the state of the world today I'd rather just log in and type a password to unlock my drives. Anyone know how to do this without losing all my data?

Have you tried simply deleting the ssh key file off the flash drive and rebooting?

I am also trying to delete them but I cant. Whatever rebooting the NAS, the ssh keys appears again. Also with known_host and authorized files.

I try in maintenace mode and safe mode but I can´t.

Have you been able to solve it? The same thing happens to me as it does to you. It doesn't matter if I delete it from the Flash Drive or from /root/.ssh, as soon as I restart the server everything is restored.

@dellorianes

Find the “Users” menu either in the header itself or under Settings.

click on root or whatever account you’re using, you can remove it from there.
