IF ANYONE HERE have a Nvme expansion card that works on this Motherboard then please write me! 🙂

No it only works with 1 Nvme and my goal was to have 2 (8x slot) I think its because the card would need to bifurc. to 4x/4x on the slot? and not the 8x/8X in this MB.

I am now looking into installing a dual U.2 PCIe card. (Much longer run life time and IO performance is great) and keeping my NVMe on the board (3 of them)

And prices is going down on some U.2 drives (8TB).

Also looking into using the slimsas on the MB for a U.2 drive

Have anyone revised the recommended settings with the new Bios above? (Efficient Cores)

 

Can anyone tell me why I have "AMI_Virtual_HDisk" on this motherboard?
Is it a Bios setting?

1. Since this thread is about the IPMI - Have anyone gotten the e-mail notification working on the IPMI? if yes what email provider?
2. Booting up with GUI on Unraid only get terminal prompt with user/password login? (Only have VGA terminal monitor attached)
3. Following the guide to control the i9 power draw not sure I am getting the best result. Bios: v. 3101 havent found the right settings for E-cores?

 

BTW Using the IPMI for adjusting Fan speed:

I am really happy with the FAN control on the IPMI with the right cables (High amp fans) and the extra power connector its pretty great!

UPDATE: Bios to 3101, it seem that the settings for the iGPU might have changed?

HELP !!!!
I have now tried all below 3 Bios versions:

BIOS 3101 - (No IGPU and memory settings, see manuel above)

BIOS 2802 - micro code for 14th gen (No IGPU and memory settings)

BIOS 2703 - (No IGPU and memory settings)

 

No matter what Bios I use I cant get the iGPU to show up in Unraid?

And I cant get the HDMI output working, no matter what I do it outputs to the IPMI VGA?
And its like the iGPU is disabled?

 

Could someone please share what setting they have and that are working?

I have tried everything... only HDMI attached to the monitor

All 3 options to boot by: Auto, PEG Slot, PCIe no matter what I cant get any output

 

And that result in Unraid not seeing any iGPU?

 

Solved: Bios setting CSM disabled!

What did you ever do for your i9 settings?  I have one and want to power it down a hair for energy without losing too much processing power.

I followed the guide for the i7 (I believe) and the only difference is that the efficient cores are all auto.
Doing the Passmark I can see that I pretty much have 50% of the score with these settings, witch is fine (Its a beast!).

Just to add some additional bits to this 13700k topic as I’ve recently been experimenting with my own.

Capping the E-cores at 39 vs 40 seems to be a pretty significant voltage savings if you don’t want to cut performance too much, just cut out some of the more inefficient frequencies. Currently I have it mine set to up to 1/2 of total e-cores, 40, if more than that many, 39.

Reducing the P-cores by 1 across the board (so say 5.4 to 5.3 for 1 or 2 p-cores) and follow the default pattern. If you keep two higher boosting p-cores, you want to try and limit them to only use the two cores that are allowed to go to 5.4. I believe these are cores 4 and 5, but verify on your own. You can see their “fused” limit or similar usually somewhere in the bios. I just reduced all the other cores to 5.2 max, so the only cores that could try and run 5.3 are the two “best” cores. If you don’t do the second part and only reduce by 1, any time you don’t use your best 2 p-cores they will be running at their default max and their excessive power use.

You can likely undervolt the cpu itself. This will vary by cpu. Right now, my system on a Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX is set to “legacy” and -0.1 v for all frequencies. By using legacy instead of adaptive, I found that this also opened up another option “power saving” for load line calibration (this is when the bios increases the voltage under loads).

Right now with a Kill-A-Watt at the plug I’m getting a “not horrible”, but definitely not there yet 66-70w sitting at idle with:

4x WD 14tb red pro hdd’s

3x Kingston KC3000 nvme

3x Rosewill 140mm front case fans

Arctic 360mm AIO with its original fans

EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra (fyi, dashboard reports 15w idle in p8 for those wondering)

32gb corsair ddr5 running at jedec 4800

This is an on/off again project I’ve been messing with for about a month now with the idea of trying to go more all-in-one server and use the 3090 for the paperless ngx related ai apps. I may find it not worth it for my purposes and pull the gpu and downgrade the cpu to a 13400.
