Thanks a lot !
mbryanr Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 What size array do you plan to have? PSU problems can be one of the most frustrating components to troubleshoot. What is your old PSU? Single Rail? Max Amps? What is your intended usage for unRAID? Here is the Bear Point Spec sheet for everyone else: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/19714/eng/DH61BE_TechProdSpec02.pdf It has the Intel 82579V Gig Card...which is only supported in >unRAID 5.0 Beta-v3 http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=14167.msg134466#msg134466
stomp Posted September 14, 2011 Author Posted September 14, 2011 I'm currently running out of space with my Syno (5.4 Tb). I'm planning on filling the Zalman case with up to 9 x 2 Tb. Once filled, I could switch to 3 Tb drives or get 5-in-3 cases... As for the PSU, I have no idea but I should probably get one of those 500W Corsair PSU, which is no big deal. I don't see the Intel NIC as a problem if it is supported by the latest Unraid builds. I think this MB has a great value for its price. Oh and usage, well it's just for streaming Blu-ray's mainly. I'm not planning to run lots of apps in the background
mbryanr Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Good deal. I have a couple of Synos as well. You can help me integrate the two with unRAID.
stomp Posted September 17, 2011 Author Posted September 17, 2011 As I was unable to get my hands on the Intel MB, I had to switch. Final parts as following : Case : ZALMAN MS1000-HS2 HDD case : ZALMAN ZM-HDR1 (not ordered yet) MB : ASUS P8H67-M LE CPU : INTEL Pentium G620 RAM : KINGSTON ValueRAM KVR1333D3E9SK2/2GI (2x1GB) PSU : OCZ ModXStream Pro 500 HDD : WESTERN DIGITAL Caviar Green WD20EARX NIC : INTEL PWLA8391GTLBLK Pro/1000 GT Desktop Adapter
stomp Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 I received all the parts. Except the NIC being low-profile, everything is fine. For those of you interested, I'll post some pics when all the HDD have been transfered from my Syno.
