Been reading up on SMR drives (I will have 4x SMR 8TB Seagate drives in addition to the rest being Iron Wolf drives).  I have a ton of movies / TV show sand music I will transfer from my soon to be retired Synology.  

 

It makes sense to me to pool those SMR drives for media storage specifically (since the task will be WORM).  Anyone have a differing opinion? If so, what would you do differently?

    SMR drives are fine to use for mostly WORM data, just may need a little more patience during the initial transfer.
