move: mover: array devices not mounted

Featured Replies

I trying to activate  mover and I am getting this message:

move: mover: array devices not mounted

However raid is up, cache pool is available.  One cache is receiving files the other is not?

Any insight would be appreciated.

You are likely to get better informed feedback if you attach your system’s diagnostics zip file to your next post in this thread.

This is a very strange one, try reapplying the settings for all shares using a pool, change something, apply, then change back and apply again:

appdata shareUseCache="prefer" # Share exists on disk1, disk2, disk3, disk4, disk5, disk6, disk7, disk8
domains shareUseCache="prefer" # Share exists on disk1
d-------s shareUseCache="yes" # Share exists on disk7, disk8

Tried it and still same results.  Wonder if I delete the cache.cfg file and then redo the exercise if this would correct the issue.

Do you mean the pool cgf file? You'd need to re-create the pools but you can try.

Yes, the pool CFG Files.

OK will stop the array and delete the files and recreate the caches ... see if this helps.

Well now... just for good measure I rebooted the server and now the mover is working ..

Slap me for not trying that first (although, in my defense I thought I had).

Closing this as resolved, but suprised that a creation of a pool needs a server reboot to become active.

It should not be needed, but glad it's resolved.
