Docker Service failed to start. Caught exception: connect ECONNREFUSED /var/run/docker.sock

I cannot access the Unraid Docker webGUI http://tower/Docker.

Web page error message:

Docker Service failed to start. No Docker containers installed.

Syslog:

Oct 1 10:07:49 Tower unraid-api[24376]: ✔️ UNRAID API started successfully!
Oct 1 10:07:50 Tower unraid-api[24376]: ⚠️ Caught exception: connect ECONNREFUSED /var/run/docker.sock
Oct 1 10:07:50 Tower unraid-api[24376]: ⚠️ UNRAID API crashed with exit code 1

However, all my docker containers appear to be working fine, and I can access the docker containers.

Since this happened around the 1st of the month, I assume this might have something to do with some scheduled tasks (i.e. backing up appdata).

I was able to workaround and resolve the issue by running the command:

/etc/rc.d/rc.docker start

But, I would like to try and prevent this from happening in the future or to someone else.

Looks like you have a container constantly restarting, check their up times to see if you can find it.

There's also an OOM error.

Reboot to clear the logs and post new diags after array start.

I just face the exactly same problem as this. Will try to run the command manully.

Cache pool went read only, with btrfs recommend backing up and reformatting the pool.

@JorgeB do you recommend the cache pool be btrfs or xfs?  This isn't the first time this has happened.  I could also have bad hardware that needs be replaced.

Btrfs usually work fine with good hardware, but try zfs, if you also have issues with that, there could be an underlying hardware problem.

Did anyone have luck with solving this issue? Having the same one, but only since 6.12.10 update.

I also have the same problem for no apparent reason!

Troubleshooting now. Will post after I remedy the situation.

EDIT: After restart everything is fine without changing any option or setting.

Same here, I selected "Enable Docker: No" apply and "Enable Docker: Yes" apply, and it worked....
