VM's disappeared after moving domains/libvirt to a new cache drive

Featured Replies

I followed an older video from SpaceInvader which I will show below. It seems as though Backup/Restore has updated since that video. Anyways I copied my domain folder and my system/libvirt folder to a share on the array and copied back to the new cache drive. All went well with the backup process as far as my Dockers go, but when I started the VM service and went to 'VMS' none of my machines populated in the list... I dont know where I messed up and after some searching am still stumped.

libvirt log says this:

text  error  warn  system  array  login

anyone? 😅 I cant seem to figure it out and Ive looked into this all day

  • 3 weeks later...

Did you figure it out?

I just replaced an old and small disk from my array with a larger one and I have the same issue as you. Same libvirt log, just different VMs names, as you would expect.

  • 3 weeks later...

I also have this problem after replacing a disk.  Everything that should be in /etc/libvirt is in /etc/libvirt- but I noticed that this /etc/libvirt- folder was created on October 6, and the problem started today.
