All kinds of permission issues

Featured Replies

I've been having non stop issues with multiple shares not having proper permissions.

1. My "Media" share, which has all of my shows and movies is usually fine, but whenever I create a new folder, it creates 4 copies of "New Folder" and I dont have access to any of them through windows. I have to run docker safe new perms to delete or rename the folders, or use MC.

2. My "Downloads" share which has all my Sonarr, Radarr and personal torrent files has a completely random issue where I'll lose access to certain files and/or folders, but there's never any pattern. This causes random episodes or movies to not transfer to my Media share and be stuck in sonarr or radarr with an "unable to import" error.

3. I have unpackerr for auto-extracting archive files that sonarr or radarr download sometimes, but the extracted files usually never properly transfer to sonarr or radarr. It's usually due to a permission issue.

I've been running docker safe new perm a few times a day for the past month or so and it's been fixing most of the issue, but now it seems like that isnt even working anymore.

Here is my SMB extra section:

force user = nobody
force group = users
create mask = 0666
force create mode = 0666
directory mask = 0777
force directory mode = 0777

What could this issue possibly be? Is there a way to force full access to 2 or 3 shares and force all files created in those shares to allow the correct permissions? I recently switched from Deluge to qbittorent and even made an entirely new share to see if that would fix the issue, but it's still giving me permission errors.
