October 9, 20232 yr Just installed a LSI 2008 w/ IT firmware. It shows up in unraid system devices as [1000:0072] 07:00.0 RAID bus controller: Broadcom / LSI SAS2008 PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS-2 [Falcon] (rev 03) I have a single 14tb Western Digital drive attatched to the breakout cable and powered up. It is not showing in Unraid. I am unable to boot into the LSI BIOS to check because I cant enable CMP on my ASrock bios (it gives me some error about external video card must be present). Are there any commands I can use in unraid to check and see if it sees the drive, or if my firmware is wrong, or otherwise troubleshoot? Diags attatched batcave-tower-diagnostics-20231009-0808.zip
October 9, 20232 yr The HBA is being initialized correctly, first suspects would be wrong cable, it need to be forward breakout, reverse breakout looks the same but won't work, or the WD 3.3v SATA pin issue, latter one can be ruled out if you hear the disk spinning up, or by using a molex to SATA adapter. P.S. btrfs is detecting a lot of data corruption in the pool, you should run memtest.
October 9, 20232 yr memtest is an option on the Unraid boot menu, but it only works for legacy boot, if you can only boot UEFI use the free Passmark memtest.
October 9, 20232 yr Author Cable wasnt connected tightly. it is now and drive showed right up. thanks!
