UNRAID OS Download from Website is Slow

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Is anyone else finding that the UNRAID OS zip file takes forever to download from the UNRAID website?

It is only 321MB and it is going to take me about 4 days?!

I need to replace all of my bz files since the bzfirmware checksum failed on boot. Is this the correct way to go about it?

Thanks

Takes a few seconds for me.

I'm seeing the same problem. I've tried three times now over the last four hours to download the 6.12.4 .ZIP file, only received some 100MB across the three attempts in that time.

Did find out that DigitalOcean is reporting a CDN issue: https://status.digitalocean.com/incidents/lh3j71zp57hx

Ever since I started working with UNRAID I've always had slow and failing downloads of the OS from the website. But updates through the server service itself is ok?

Just doesn't make sense to me.

Thanks @JorgeB for the hint! After several failed download attempts, I tunnelled my VPN to Spain, and ¡ole! Got about 2MB/sec download speeds, and was done in 4 minutes. For reference, I'm in Australia.

I think DigitalOcean is definitely having a geographically segmented/varigated issue.

I'm in Australia too. Maybe I should try tunneling. Where is the best place for it?

Yep, I'm also in Australia. I came here looking for a solution, its literally like watching paint dry.

Is this with the new USB tool?

Hi JorgeB,

No, its a slow download when using the online upgrade. I upgraded to 7.01 today. After an hour I had only downloaded 50mb and I'm on Gig fibre.

I took the advice above, which apparently you gave originally, and setup a Wireguard vpn to Spain. Download was done in less than a couple of minutes.

I haven't tried the new USB tool. Upgrade was smooth though.

I'm updating to 7.0.1 now and it's downloading at ~125kB/s (1Mbps). I'm also in Australia. Updating using the WebUI.

First post after googling seems to have all us Aussies with slow downloads, i'm on Gbit fiber, can get 117MB/s and its downloading 5% so far in 20 mins - just let it run i guess
