February 23, 200818 yr Accidentaly posted this in 4.0/4.1 forum There is bug in Unraid 4.2.1 that if i move files in same user share. Lets say in \\tower\myshare. If i copy files with vista from \\tower\myshare to \\tower\myshare\mydirectory not all files are shown after moving. I mean they are completely missing after files are moved. But if i stop and restart array they are where they should be. This is bug with user shares. Same thing happened if i moved files inside user shares the unraid server with mignight commander.
February 26, 200818 yr Can you post the share config file? It's located on the Flash in the 'config/shares' directory.
February 26, 200818 yr Author Here. It seems to move files ok since after i stop and restart array they are where they should be. And it seems that files that where missing where random but i could be wrong. I should have checked more carefully and see in what disks those missing files where. I might try to replicate this problem when i have time but i just did moved some files from root directory \\tower\myshare to subdirectory that was like \\tower\myshare\subdirectory. About 20-30 files. # Share config shareExport=er shareComment= shareValidUsers= shareInvalidUsers= shareExceptions=joey, don shareInclude= shareExclude= shareAllocator=highwater shareSplitLevel=999
February 26, 200818 yr well the same thing also happens when you copy any files to the actuall disk (ex: \\tower\disk1\dvds)....if it has a share that is spanned across more than 1 disk, it does not show up in the shares folder (in this case "dvds") until you stop and restart the server. If the share is only on 1 disk, it shows up fine. I only have read access to my shares and only write to the actual disks.
February 28, 200818 yr Author I like to correct that in my first post i was talking about "copy" but what i really mean was "move". I haven't had any troubles copying files only when i move them inside same user share.

February 28, 200818 yr Author That thing you are talking about is old news. It's nothing to do with this bug. If you copy to disk shares it won't show in user shares until you stop and start the array so that unRaid rescans user shares.
March 5, 200818 yr Author Does 4.2.3 fix this problem? Is fix for this bug this? Bug Fix: fixed directory rename problem with user shares
March 5, 200818 yr Does 4.2.3 fix this problem? Is fix for this bug this? Bug Fix: fixed directory rename problem with user shares No, the fix you are looking for is not the one addressed in this release. It had to do with re-naming of directories (I think using file-explorer) not direct writes to the disk shares. You are looking for direct writes to the "disk[1234..] shares to be visible in the "user-shares" without having to stop and re-start the array. Tom has said that feature will be added to a future release.
March 5, 200818 yr Does 4.2.3 fix this problem? Is fix for this bug this? Bug Fix: fixed directory rename problem with user shares Yes. Fix is for this problem - plus a couple others that hadn't come up yet Please try 4.2.3 to see if this fixes the problem you were seeing.

Edited: Had quote from wrong post
March 6, 200818 yr yeah, i thought it was similar or the same bug hopefully the one was talking about gets fixed soon as well
