September 21, 201114 yr 5.0 Beta 12a. My server hung this morning so I rebooted and also upgraded to 12a. Assigned all of my drives and now it says My parity disk is invalid. It is the same parity disk as before. Should I be ok with it just rebuilding?
September 22, 201114 yr I had this too. If I then just rebooted, it said that parity was ok but I rebuilt just in case....
September 22, 201114 yr Author thanks. i let it rebuild and everything seems ok. Just a little scary at first, haven't had this problem before. Maybe you can answer this, I think I remember reading that with the new builds of beta, if you want to replace your parity drive, it can go in any slot, doesn't have to go in the same slot as the current parity disk, is that correct? I do plan on upgrading to a 3tb drive.

It never had to go in the same slot, as far as I know, you just had to assign the disk manually, unRAID did not automatically it was a replacement if it was in a different slot (actually, a different disk controller port)
September 22, 201114 yr What version did you upgrade from? To upgrade from certain earlier version to the new beta's you must reset the disk array (and the users too). Basically, you have to create a new array with the existing data drives which requires a parity build. Peter
