Slow Parity Sync - 5MB/s

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Im new to UNRAID so appologies if this is a simple question. I recently transfered my truenas server to unraid. I created my array without a parity drive to start (the drive I was planning to use for parity had all my data from my previous NAS on) and copied the data across. Then once the data was copied I added the parity drive to the array. It's a 16tb drive and the first day it was transfering at speeds of around 60MB/s now on day 3 its averaging 5MB/s and says it will take 15 days to complete. One of my drives had a SMART error of 159 reallocated sectors but that hasn't increased so I'm thinking it cant be that. have I done something wrong i'm missing?

Thanks and i've attached my diagnositcs

According to your diagnostics you have writing going on to disk1, disk2 and in particular disk3.    This will dramatically slow down any parity check while these writes are happening.
