I was wondering if I should preclear new hard drives that I intend using in other systems? I'm building a new ESXi server with ten drives and I'd like to burn-in the drives before I put them into the server. Thanks in advance for the help! jsdds

It will burn in the drives just fine. (Many people do exactly what you are describing, even for drives for other systems, since it let you find many bad drives BEFORE you store your data on them.)
