November 3, 20232 yr Powered up my backup box. Machine was not contactable via the web interface. Checked the local monitor and it was sitting at the login prompt. Was able to ping via IP but cannot SSH into the unit. Changed ethernet cable and switch port. Rebooted a number of times, tried Unraid GUI and it loads but the localhost is unavailable, tried Unraid GUI (Safe-mode) and same, localhost unavailable. On normal load I see no real errors skimming by. Ran diagnostics but not sure what I'm looking at. Checked other forum posts and google for other options but reluctant to go whole key placement without someone's advice. Moved the USB key to other USB slots. Ran chkdsk on the usb key, it found and corrected a few errors. Attached diagnostics file, can anyone help please? hyperion-diagnostics-20231102-1535.zip Thanks W.
November 3, 20232 yr Author ok thanks, how would do that from the terminal? I set MTU to 9000 a year ago to support my 10G connection.
November 3, 20232 yr Community Expert Edit /boot/config/network.cfg and change MTU[0]="9000" to MTU[0]="1500", also change that in your desktop, if configured.
November 4, 20232 yr Community Expert Delete/rename /boot/config/network.cfg and network-rules.cfg and reboot, this will reset network to default DHCP, post new diags once it boots.
November 4, 20232 yr Author okay renamed both files to .old. Restarted .. no change other than IP went from 192.168.1.77 to 192.168.1.7. still no love. ran diagnostics and attached. thanks for the help hyperion-diagnostics-20231104-2032.zip
November 4, 20232 yr Community Expert Everything looks normal to me, problem might be on the client side, try with another device the link below (must be on the 10GbE network, if it's not connect the gigabit NIC and check the IP it gets): http://192.168.1.7
November 5, 20232 yr Author Tried with a number of different devices to connect to 192.168.1.7. Disconnected the 10gbe network, attached the gigabyte network, restarted. Same behaviour machine boots to login with screen IP of 192.168.1.7. Can ping but cannot connect on a number of other PCs.
November 5, 20232 yr Author I created a new USB and copied the contents of the old 'config' folder over the new install. Installed USB and rebooted, exactly the same behaviour as before. Created another USB, just vanilla build, booted and was able to access the web console via 192.168.1.7, so it isn't a hardware or network issue. Expect there is something in the config that is causing the issue, but haven't been able to narrow it down.
November 5, 20232 yr Community Expert Solution Suggest just restoring the bare minimum to the new flash drive, like the key, super.dat and pools folder for the assignments, docker user templates, then just reconfigure the rest or restore a few files at a time until you find the culprit.
November 6, 20232 yr Author ok grabbed new USB added pro.key, super.dat and pools folder also docker.cfg. Since this is a backup machine only had one vm and one docker for cloudflare. So no great loss. Rebooted and prompts for registration key, go to page, click 'Replace Key', popup opens, log in, then that disappears with note to finalise the process by clicking on a further button which does not appear. as I was using firfox I went to Edge and the popup appears to Finalise but when I click that it just goes back to the previous popup and cycles over and over. will probably have to contact support, unless there is further advice? thanks Edited November 6, 20232 yr by wil56k spelling
