I’ve been through the settings tab for the controller but I don’t see anything related to remote access. Maybe I’m missing something???

I use the official ios app without issue provided by unifi.

@MrTroll @PeteAsking Thanks. The help article seems to be outdated but I found the setting.

The mobile app will work without enabling remote management, but will only work when you are on the network or connected via VPN.

I couldn’t get it to see the network until I found the remote management setting and enabled it. Just showed a few previous networks that weren’t connected.

I dont have remote management enabled either. Probably you didnt change the connection on the mobile app to just ip address and was using an old profile via their servers.

11notes/unifi:9-unraid if you're down for any bugs that might crop up with a fresh release. Otherwise sub the number for the current version number of the "Network Server" on unifis website.

Is there a recommendation/experience as to which version can be used without hesitation?

i figured it was good to ask here before i go deploying the unifi controller.

I have a remote location (my mom's house) with a aging cloudkeygen1 I thought simply buying the new cloudkey gen 2 but i don't feel it's worth the investment given that i only have 2 WAPs over there. If i decide to migrate from the cloudkey to the controller does it perform well being a remote instance instead of locally running in the same location?

I've been asking myself what do I loose by doing that, Now with the Unifi OS setup that was recently released as another option to setup the controller.

Take a look on page 1 for versions that are best suited for your deployment.

I'm fairly certain all it takes is port forwarding. A mate of mine managed this with his and his mother's like you. I can ask him if you want homie.

I updated to 9.5.21 last night using 9-Unraid tag. It has been running stable for 10 hours so far. No issues to report at this stage. I will update if anything breaks

Shout out to @PeteAsking for this docker. I was running a quite old version of Unifi Controller docker version 7.2.92. The recommended upgrade path was to install the same version of this docker, but none that old exists. Figured, why not, lets go for the newest stable version of unifi-controller-reborn, see if that will fly.

I backed up my config on my v7.2.92 controller and powered it off. Then I deployed version 9.4.19 of unifi-controller-reborn and the backup restored fine. Logged in with my original credentials. All APs were present, historical logs, everything. Smoothest upgrade I've ever done.

i updated yesterdat to the latest version.

but i'm seeing stuff like this a lot since updating the controller:
energysocket PC roamed from U7 Pro to NanoHD. Connection Info: Ch. 6 (2.4 GHz, 20 MHz), -71 dBm. Roaming Decision: -44 dBm to -71 dBm.

the energy socket is like 3 meters away from the u7 and like almost 15 meters with a couple of walls in between from the nanohd..

since yesterday (24 hours now) i've got almost a 1000 entry's in the log about disconnects and reconnecting.
thinking about going back to the previous version.

This would have nothing to do with the unifi side as clients decide when to roam, you should investigate the energy socket device, reboot it update firmware or so on.

In the Unifi controller you can lock it to an AP. Have you tried that?

Also there are reports on the latest U7 FW that some devices are having connection issues. Did you happen to update the FW of your AP over the last few days as well?. If so I would suggest rolling back AP FW and seeing what happens
