Unraid Server keeps crashing

Featured Replies

So over the last few weeks my server keeps either:

  • crashing (web UI unaccessible): has done this a few times over the last few weeks
  • Rebooting: only experienced this once today (~8:45 10/Nov/2023 in the logs)

I thought it was due to my OS upgrade to 6.12.4 because that's about when it started occurring but I have since downgraded to 6.12.3 and it's still happening.

I have also tried:

  1. Swapped a HDD with a SMART error status
  2. Changing Docker custom network type from macvlan to ipvlan
  3. Disabling plugins slowly and re-enabling them

I've attached my latest diagnostics and syslog file.

Hoping someone will be able to see something I've missed. Fingers crossed it's not hardware related...

Thanks in advance for your help.

Incorrect Unraid version number

Nov 1 18:08:40 TheVault kernel: macvlan_broadcast+0x10a/0x150 [macvlan]
Nov 1 18:08:40 TheVault kernel: ? _raw_spin_unlock+0x14/0x29
Nov 1 18:08:40 TheVault kernel: macvlan_process_broadcast+0xbc/0x12f [macvlan]

Macvlan call traces will usually end up crashing the server, switching to ipvlan should fix it (Settings -> Docker Settings -> Docker custom network type -> ipvlan (advanced view must be enabled, top right)).

Hey JorgeB, I had read this on the forum and as mentioned in my post I did disable Macvlan back on ~ Nov 2 but it didn't resolve my issues.

Did you reboot after making the change? There is nothing more relevant logged.

I want to say yes because I feel like I would have but looking at my log it says the last reboot was before the last macvlan error so it doesn't appear as if I did... 🤦‍♂️

Have restarted now and will monitor. Thanks!

A restart did the trick after switching to ipvlan from macvlan. Thanks @JorgeB
