Windows 10VM Help Really bad Geekbench score

Featured Replies

Hi All,

First thanks for taking the time to read this. I am pretty new to VM’s on unraid and have decided to set up a VM for gaming. My unraid server consists of Dual Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2695 v2 @ 2.40GHz each one with 12 cores and 24 threads. I have 256GB of memory, A Nvidia Quadro K2200 GPU. An array of 14 Drives and a pool of 2 512gb ssd’s for cache.

I followed spaceinvaders old video of setting windows 10 as a gaming vm and gave the machine 500gb of HD space, I don’t think its using an ssd but that’s for another discussion.

The VM seems to be ok but not really that fast, and I noticed that the cpu usage would go very high when just trying to install something.

I installed Geekbench and ran a cpu test and got a really bad score of 392 For single core and 1530 for multi core. I installed Nvidia drivers on the VM and will proceed to run the Gpu benchmark but below is the cpu details displayed in Geekbench.

Is there some step I have missed?

Name    Intel Xeon E5-2695 v2
Topology    1 Processor, 4 Cores, 8 Threads
Identifier    GenuineIntel Family 6 Model 62 Stepping 4
Base Frequency    2.40 GHz
Cluster 1    4 Cores
Maximum Frequency    3004 MHz
Package    Socket 2011 LGA
Codename    Ivy Bridge-EP/EX
L1 Instruction Cache    32.0 KB x 4
L1 Data Cache    32.0 KB x 4
L2 Cache    256 KB x 4
L3 Cache    30.0 MB x 1

Thanks in advance
