Can EPYC 7F32 with 512Gigs of 3200Mhz RAM be fully used on Unraid?

Featured Replies

CPU: EPYC 7F32

MB: ROMED8-2T

RAM: 64G 3200 REG-ECC*8

My Cache and SATA-SSD pool both uses ZFS raidz, and for the Array I am using XFS.

I've heard that 1Gig of RAM is required to fully harness 1TB of storage and I don't know if I really install these RAMs should it help with the system.

Please help thanks frienddo

That's really no longer applicable, but giving as much RAM to the ZFS ARC as possible will generally help with ZFS performance.

Thanks for helping!

And if I set Array to ZFS mode, would it benefit the overall performance?(for I have heard that unraid 6.12 can only set individual Array drives into ZFS mode)

If it would, should I just stop the Array and change it from XFS to ZFS and re-start it without any problem?

Btw I am using a single HC550 18T and a EXOS 18T as parity, with another HC550 18T planning to install.

Not really, for performance I would recommend using ZFS pools, it can be one or more as needed.
