September 27, 201114 yr i know this sounds weird but, just to know, under a unRAID BAsic License, which works up to 3 drives, could i start with even just 1 drive? even tho i wont get parity for now? or i have no choice to start with at least 2 drives or unRAID wont worK? thanks!!
September 27, 201114 yr Author Yes you may start with only 1 drive ahhhh! thanks then, after that, when adding a second drive, can i decide if i want it to act as PArity or Storage? or i dont have a choice to use it as parity? thanks
September 27, 201114 yr Author You have a choice. If you value the data you'll install parity ASAP. oh yeah definitely! thanks
September 27, 201114 yr The basic version is limited to 2data and 1parity drive. You can run it with just 1 or 2 unprotected drives. The 3rd drive then must be parity. Of course your second drive can also be parity. The basic version dose not allow user shares or cache drives. So yes, you can run it as a 1 drive (unprotected) nas.
