September 28, 201114 yr So, my last few attempts to restart using 'shutdown -r now' have been unsuccessful and I was wondering if anyone could help troubleshoot the issue. This time I received a message like the following: Message from syslogd@Juggernaut at [date] Juggernaut kernal: Oops: 0000 [#1] SMP Message from syslogd@Juggernaut at [date] Juggernaut kernal: Process sync_supers (pid: 141, ti=f0268000 task=f0251dd0 task.ti=f0268000) Message from syslogd@Juggernaut at [date] Juggernaut Message from syslogd@Juggernaut at [date] kernal: Stack:Juggernaut kernal: last sysfs file: /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1f.2/host1/target1:0:0/1:0:0:0/block/sdb/removable Message from syslogd@Juggernaut at [date] Juggernaut kernal: Call Trace: There is a bit more and I can post it all if necessary but does anyone have any ideas?
September 28, 201114 yr do not do shutdown -r now stop the array from the webGUI and then reboot from there.
September 28, 201114 yr Author I've shutdown all known services and try to stop the array and get: Unmounting disks...Retry unmounting disk share(s)
September 28, 201114 yr I've shutdown all known services and try to stop the array and get: Unmounting disks...Retry unmounting disk share(s) then there is still something accessing them. Look into lsof an lsof /mnt/ should reveal some info.
September 28, 201114 yr See this:http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=14452.0 But still use the webGUI to shutdown. The shutdown command is like pulling power to unRAID. Or install the powerdown script.
January 3, 201214 yr Hi, my powerdown works great, but when I have physical access to the server so I can turn it back on, how do I RESTART the server instead of SHUTDOWN? I stopped all the services and stopped the array, but after I stop the array I lose conectivity to the server (I can't telnet, I can't go to the webGUI, nothing... I had to drive home to manually power down the server and start it back up again) Is there any script like the unMENU powerdown script but to restart the server? I modified my powerdown to stop all the services (i.e. mysql, couchpotato, sickbeard, transmission, sabnzbd, airvideo, plex, etc etc) and it works great, but I have to be there to turn it back on..! Thanks in advance!
