Seems like a good deal if you like 7200 RPM drives - should make a nice parity drive or possibly a cache drive (warm spare, anyone?). Remember that 3 TB drives are only supported at full capacity by unRAID 5.0 beta.
September 29, 201114 yr Very temping to guineepig this for a parity drive. I have been waiting on the hitachi 3tb 7200 to go on sale.
September 29, 201114 yr Author If I were in the market for a 3 TB 7200 RPM drive I too would prefer the Hitachi based on their stellar track record of late. Still, I'm not seeing any terrible reviews for these Seagate drives, so they are probably just as good.
