Any benefit having Intel "K" processor over "non K"?

Featured Replies

Hi, I am planning to setup new unraid machine and I do not understand whether I can benefit anyhow from having Intel processor with graphics integrated?

Can you advice? My primary usage is Plex docker.

Many thanks

K is higher clocks and overclocking unlocked, it's F that removes integrated graphics.

Integrated graphics are very useful if you want to run a media server like plex/jellyfin/emby etc.

I think that it 99% true, but that Intel did release some K CPUs without an IGP. Should have had the KF name but did not.

You should always check on Intel ARK.

With integrated Intel graphics - no need for a discrete GPU to get a monitor output (usually used only during the initial Unraid setup) or transcoding capability if utilized.

Exactly.  More so now, as Intel will be (has already) been messing around with their product naming conventions, as they prepare to retire the "Core" branding.
