November 29, 20232 yr Hi, I'm currently thinking about how to set up my Unraid now... I have a 1 tb SSD as an array and a 3 tb HDD as a parity Now I still have 2 SSD lying around here (128GB and 512GB) Does it even make sense to create a cache with this (or at least with an SSD)? The array is already an SSD anyway... Or do I throw the two SSDs into the array? Regards Jörg
November 29, 20232 yr Community Expert Having a HDD as parity will negate any write speed advantage for SSDs, reads will still be good if that's important for your use case, also note that TRIM is not supported for the array, so possibly best to use them in a pool.
