Huge Problem with LSI 9300-8i and SAS SSDs

Featured Replies

Hey,

i´ve been using Unraid for quite some time now and I really love it. But i encountered a really annoying problem recently.

I upgraded from 4 SATA disks to an LSI 9300-8i with 8 SAS 12G SSDs. Completely new Config made.

The Problem: Unraid doesnt seem to manage the Diskspeeds right. I only get about 50-60Mb/s write and read. Configured as a Pool, not Array.

But regardless how I configure them, zfs/btfrs, Raid5, Raid0, combined performance peaking at about 350mb/s w/r.

Without any changes in the Bios, today i tried TrueNAS Core, and heyyo, i manage to get 1,09 GB/s transfer speeds with SMB.

I really dont know what to do anymore, as i really want to use Unraid (i mean i paid for it)

Things i tried:

-Newest Firmware and Bios of every device. MB, Hba, etc.

-Write Cache -> On.

-Different Pcie Slots: done.

Since it works with truenas, i cant imagine a real Problem with either the card nor the ssds.

Any help would be appreciated.
