unRAID doesn't see Hard Drives, even though it worked an hour ago

Featured Replies

So I am setting up my unRAID Server on a Poweredge T330 and when I started it the first time, it saw one of my two hard drives, I decided to fix this later, so I tried to create a share, when that didn't work, I assumed it was a problem with the hard drives, so I rebooted to see if the hard drives are seen now, but now it sees neither.

I new to Servers, so feel free to ask me any Question nessesary.

Please attach your diagnostics to a new post in this thread so an expert has something to help diagnose your issue.

Which controller are these using? RAID controllers are NOT recommended with Unraid for many reasons.

I actually dont know, how do I check?

  • Community Expert

It is a RAID controller, ideally you'd use a true HBA, but that one may work if you set the devices to JBOD, but can still have issues in the future if you need to change the controller.

Alright, how do I fix this?

Ah, I see, is it possible, to fix my issue with the controller I have now?

Is this controller on your motherboard? Have you used all the ports on this other controller?

I thought I only had one Controller, considering it came with the Server, I'm pretty sure, from Dell.

That other controller I showed above is from your Diagnostics.

Are there any SATA ports on your motherboard?
