October 4, 201114 yr I just installed the clean powerdown package via unMenu. I am able to initiate the shut down which seems to go fine but the last line on screen states 'system halted' yet the server stays up and doesn't finish shutting down. Running 4.7 Plus Thanks in advance for help. V syslog-2011-10-04.txt
October 4, 201114 yr As strange as it may seem, I resolved this issue by changing the power failure restore state setting in the BIOS. I use a different motherboard, so this may not apply to your situation.

October 5, 201114 yr Author Update: Still working on it. I can 'poweroff' successfully from terminal. I can 'powerdown' successfully from terminal. Can not shut down via ctl-alt-d. Can not shut down from main in browser. Anyone? Thanks. V
October 5, 201114 yr Author Is there a way to tell if its a BIOS issue, unMenu or an unRAID issue? Stopping reinstall at boot doesn't change anything. At this point I'm considering an unMenu uninstall/reinstall. Apparently my log isn't showing anything since no one has commented on it. Thanks. V

However I have been over that thread for 2 days but my limited linux, terminal , and command line abilities make it very difficult for me to grasp most of it. The info there is what got me as far as I did in my 'update' post. I will keep trying though. Thanks. V
