Old Unraid Box - Starting to Randomly Freeze.

Featured Replies

First off, I know the system is old and basic. I built it out of old parts that were being scrapped 4-5 years ago. Was more of an experiment back then.

I've kept using the box/expirement. Worked well, but it has recently been hard freezing to the point that I have to hard reset. When it freezes, there is no network access and no numluck/caps luck change on Keyboard if locked up.

I've attached the diagnostics and wonder if someone could point me in the direction of what the problem may be? I've ran Memtest for a day and half with it passing after several runs passed. Cleaned up fans etc but I doubt thermals are a factor. Drives passing smart last time I checked. Longterm I'd like to take my thumbdrive & HDs and setup a new system with them, but are my issues going to follow me to the new system? (AMD Ryzen/B550 Mobo)

Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately there's nothing relevant logged, this usually points to a hardware issue, one thing you can try is to boot the server in safe mode with all docker/VMs disabled, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one.

Been away for a bit.

I noticed this in the logs today. (attached)

This may be unrelated. But with one of the Unraid updates, updates to my dockers started to do this whenever I update them. I typically have to restart the server or docker service.

Error response from daemon: Conflict. The container name "/smokeping" is already in use by container "331c5fba7392676565c391418e0760f861ae560ec42098bd5c87e3b4f399cbae". You have to remove (or rename) that container to be able to reuse that name.

The command failed.

That should be unrelated to the crashing.
