Expanding media share while keeping hardlinks

Featured Replies

Just want to confirm what I'm planning makes sense. Right now my setup consists of a 16TB parity, two 4TB and an 8TB drive in the array, with a 1TB cache pool. To get hardlinks consistently playing nice with sonarr/radarr I've set the media share (which also is where qbittorrent downloads to) to only be on the 8TB drive, no cache. Every other share is either on the 4TB drives or cache.

I'm planning to fill the 8TB drive up to about 85% or so, then add another 16TB drive just for the media share. When I add this new drive, I'll change the disk assigned to the media share to that disk only so all new writes should only go to the new 16TB drive. This should keep the old hardlinks intact while allowing new ones to be made on the new drive right?

I'm curious if this works the way i think it will and if anyone can share how they are doing hardlinks with multiple drives under the media share?

Also any suggestions on how much to fill up the 8TB drive? It's at about 70% atm.
