Slow Parity Rebuild

Featured Replies

I am upgrading my parity discs from 14tb to 20tb WD Red drive. Looking for some insight why my rebuild is so slow. Dockers and VM are disabled. Thanks in advance!

LnkSta: Speed 5GT/s, Width x4 (downgraded)

HBA is on an x4 link so bandwidth is cut in half, with so many disks it will make a difference, a PCIe 2.0 x4 link has about 1600-1700MB/s usable, divide that by 30 disks and you get the speed you are seeing, and even on an x8 slot it will still bottleneck with so many disks, upgrading to PCIe 3.0 would also help.
