  • Seagate Enterprise Capacity 3.5 HDD ST8000NM0055-1RM112 x2 (emits sound)

Problem

I recently swapped my unraid setup from a laptop + hard drive enclosure to a desktop. I've rebuilt the array just fine and everything worked using my latest appdata backup but the server is constantly emitting this annoying fairly quiet hum (see video). This hum went away when I was rebuilding the parity drive but came back afterwards. On startup the humming doesn't happen until the Dell logo appears.

What I've tried

I ended up updating the firmware on my ST8000NM0055-1RM112 drives and that fixed the issue.
