BIOS Detects Newly Added Hard Disks But Not Detected in Unraid

Featured Replies

Hi community,

I've been stuck with an unraid setup. I'm using a PC with Asrock Steel Legend X570 motherboard as an Unraid build. Storage configuration is set to AHCI. I had 3 8TB hard disks attached to it for some time now, and it was working fine. Recently I added two 10TB hard disks to it, but only one is showing up in Unraid. But both the hard disks are showing up in the Bios Storage Configuration. I wonder if I'm missing something. I know that I need to assign one larger capacity drive as parity. So do I need to rebuild the parity with one larger capacity 10TB drive that is showing up in the unassigned list before the second 10TB one shows up? Apologies if this is a noob-level question or if this has been answered elsewhere.

Thanks a lot for the help. I've also attached the diagnostics file with this post.

Looks like the system is having problems with one of the drives:

Dec 21 13:18:37 Tower kernel: ata2.00: failed to IDENTIFY (INIT_DEV_PARAMS failed, err_mask=0x80)

Presumably this is the 'missing' drive.   Probably need to carefully check the power and sata cabling to the drive.
