UnRaid Crash

Featured Replies

Hello all, and Merry Christmas! Here is the issue I have.

My UnRaid server has been running well for a long time. The other night, it crashed on me. I still have yet to ascertain the reason. I checked the logs and there was nothing I could make sense of that would point to the issue. I also had a friend who uses Unraid look, and he didn't find anything either that would point to the issue. I am hoping someone here might be able to give answers, and maybe give me some advice on how to proceed.

I am on 6.11.5, but I have plans to upgrade soon once this issue is in the rearview. Thank you in advance for anyone willing to take a look, and happy holidays!!!

The syslog in the diagnostics is the RAM copy and only shows what happened since the reboot.   It could be worth enabling the syslog server to get a log that survives a reboot so we can see what happened prior to the reboot.

I have syslog enabled. There's a bunch of files in there and I'm not sure which one you need. Could you give me some advice on which one to upload?

Did you use the mirror to flash option?

That is a setting I don't know anything about, so probably not. Is there a way to know which log you need?

I found the setting. It's not enabled

You can use either that setting, or put the Unraid Server’s address in the Remote Server field.

It's set to local host. Here is a snapshot of all my syslog files. Which one do you need?

The one that corresponds to the IP address of your server.

This one is localhost so I'm sure it's the right one, plus it has logs from before the crash. The crash happened on the 21st I believe.

There's a call trace logged, but can't see what caused it, could be hardware related, one thing you can try is to boot the server in safe mode with all docker/VMs disabled, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one.
