December 29, 20232 yr Dears may I ask you for advice? I have NVMW disk 1TB which I want to run 2 VMs. I know how to passthrough full disk for usage in VM and I know how to passthrough full controller to VM. But my understanding is that those 2 methods, also preferred because there is no extra virtualization layer there, do not allow to run 2 VMs on that disk, am I right? If so, I wanted to create vdisk files on that NVME and run VMs in those files. But how to do that? What I see is on picture 1 - empty disk without format and partitions, where the only option is FORMAT. When I format as XFS, NVME changes its status to greyed UDEV label. I cannot mount or do anything else, see picture 2. When I try to create VM, I do not know what to select in primary vdisk location in order to be as vdisk file on that unassigned NVME disk. See picture 3. Can you please advice? Many thanks Vladimir
December 29, 20232 yr Community Expert Solution You'd need to format the device then use its path for the vdisk(s)
December 29, 20232 yr Author Dear Jorge, thanks it worked, I do not know why previously disk was labeled UDEV.
