October 8, 201114 yr Hi Guys, Quick question. Server fell over last night but I couldn't work out why and when I finally got access to it again the syslog was gone (I worked out after that pulling the USB stick would have been the answer). Running a secondary sync after uploading 35GB and no errors so far (at 12%). Any ideas why 16 errors would have cropped up without any SMART ATA/disk errors being posted? Server hasn't posted a single sync error since May otherwise. syslog-2011-10-08.txt

Sure, bad memory, noisy power supply voltages, bad disk controller port... I'd start with a memory test. It's ECC memory, so I'd be surprised if it was the memory given it's running under spec speed at spec voltage + with pretty strict ECC commands! I will give it a bash anyway, nothing to loose!
