smb-extra.conf getting overwritten

Featured Replies

I have modified my smb-extra.conf using the instructions from this thread

http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=5446.0

But it looks like every so often, it gets over written to its original state.  The server has not been rebooted but I suspect with in a few hours/day it will change.  Anyone know how to monitor it or why its happening?

You gave us no details.

What other addon's are you running? SNAP perhaps?  And there is not "default" for the samba-extra.conf file as it is not created by default with unRAID.

I am running snap.  I said it was default since the file was there before I followed the previously mentioned instructions.  When it reverts it goes back to

[bIN]
path = /mnt/user/BIN
read only = No

As for other addons

sab, couchpotato, sickbeard, pyload, transmission and all associated packages

plex -not with the plugin version

hamachi

java

shell in a box

powerdown

simplefeatures

crashplan

screen

there might be some others but I dont think so

I am running snap.

that is probably the app that is changing/defaulting the samba-extra.conf

Not even that is default, it sounds like you might have set up a recycle bin?

I know (assuming those are my unMenu package version) for a fact that those packages do not touch the samba-extra.conf file.

plex -not with the plugin version

hamachi

java

These do not touch it I believe

shell in a box

This one does not touch it I know that.

powerdown

simplefeatures

crashplan

screen

None of those touch it I believe.

I would try disabling/uninstalling/not using SNAP and then try to reproduce the issue.

I had setup a recycle bin its just when it reverts it doesn't work as expected.  I will try disabling snap (haven't ever used it, just have it as a just in case)
