January 4, 20242 yr Yesterday my 14tb hdd drive started displaying 197 Current pending sector 198 Offline uncorrectable with values that quickly went up to 3784. I haven't seen the numbers go up at all since, but I haven't done anything aside from watch some movies since then. Today I got: 187 Reported uncorrect and that number is at 29. My main dashboard displays 91 errors for that drive. I looked at some similar posts on this forum, and saw they advised a SMART extended test. I did that and got: Completed: read failure. Attaching it to this post. Is it time to replace the drive? I ordered one already and it's in the mail. Just wondering if this drive is still usable or if I should replace it with the one I ordered. January 4, 20242 yr Definitely replace. Attach diagnostics to your NEXT post in this thread if you want us to take a look in case you have other problems that might cause problems during replacement or otherwise.

Here's the diagnostic file. I think everything else is in good working order, but please let me know if I need to make other changes to my setup. alexandria-diagnostics-20240104-1618.zip
January 4, 20242 yr Your syslog agrees with the disk3 problems, but I didn't notice anything else. Unrelated, your appdata and system shares have files on the array.
January 4, 20242 yr Author Thanks, a few weeks ago I replaced my cache drive. To do that I had to set all my shares to prefer the array and then run mover. Then power down, swap the cache, power up, then I set appdata and system shared back to preferring the cache and ran the mover again. It sounds like some of the files might not have moved back over. Can I just run the mover again or is there a way to manually do that?
January 5, 20242 yr Nothing can move open files. Disable Docker and VM Manager in Settings before running mover.

I should have specified I did that step (disabling docker and VMs) before removing and replacing the cache. I don't run any VMs (at the moment) anyway, so no issues there, but it sounds like somehow the array didn't move everything back onto the cache. Should I try to disable docker and VMs again and run the mover again or is there a way to see which files are still on the array and need to be manually moved?
January 5, 20242 yr Mover won't replace files so if the same file exists in both places you will have to decide which to keep. Also, mover can't move from read-only filesystem, since move requires the ability to delete the source after copying, don't know if you had that problem or not. Dynamix File Manager plugin can manage files directly on the server.
