I have had this problem for months in Unraid 7 and the last time I asked for help here I was told it was a hardware problem because I have an Intel 14900K. Might be, but it felt like a defensive conclusion. I ran a memtest which came out negative for errors. The issue occurs from time to time and I have a feeling this has nothing to do with hardware since I have no other issues. Everything works fine except I suddenly can't login anymore. For example all docker containers works while this issue persists. I tried to run /etc/rc.d/rc.nginx restart which triggers rc.nginx: Stopping Nginx server daemon gracefully... but it get's stuck there and nothing happens. I have a feeling this has to do with nginx. I really love Unraid but this issue is so frustrating.

Quick skim through the previous posts, and the underlying issue is likely fixed in 7.1.x

What makes you say that?

  • 2 weeks later...

At 7.1.3 and still have this issue

  • 3 months later...

I am on 7.1.4 and have kept getting this issue,
This narrowed it down to a app last time or so I thought, removed it, and the issue stopped.
So left it as that....... decided to install another app. FileFlows-Node.

Within mins, cant access dashboard, now I am starting to wonder something, as the one before it, accessed /mnt, Fileflows-node access /mnt/cache by default

So I am wondering if thats causes an internal crash with the GUI itself.
I am going to reboot, and then move the temp folder it wants to use, to something thats more on the array or a actual proper location within /mnt/user.

I am just throwing thoughts at this point.

As nothing else has changed on my server but this container, and before that it was another, which the issue went away after removing.

im getting the same... have to reboot unraid every day or two or the login page just loads over and over. when it first started i thought maybe power, so got a new ups, nope. then i thought my hardware (which was aging) was the problem and it was time to upgrade anyway so motherboard, ram and processor are all new and still doing it. i also updated unraid to see if it was something there, no-pe. ive had this unraid install for over 12 years through numerous hardware and would hate to have to ditch it but as it is this is simply not usable.

Enable the syslog server and post that after the issue happens.
