January 5, 20242 yr Hi, my unraid server keeps locking up or partially locking up every day or two. Some docker containers continue to run but the gui is un-accessable and I can't SSH. cpu: intel i7 7700k mobo: z270f asus 64gb ram (not OC) two cache nvme 14 data drives connected to a adaptec HBA 750watt pwr supply nvidia 1070 gpu I have this system on a 400watt ups. Unfortunately I'm using a usb 3.0 drive The diagnostics were taken after the reboot but I did mirror syslog to capture the time of freeze I'm on 6.12.6 and I changed my docker from macvlan to iplan Any help is appreciated. syslog tower-diagnostics-20240105-0934.zip

January 7, 20242 yr Community Expert Unfortunately there's nothing relevant logged, this usually points to a hardware issue, one thing you can try is to boot the server in safe mode with all docker/VMs disabled, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one.
January 12, 20242 yr Author Solution It indeed was a hardware issue. My unraid machine is tucked away on a shelf in my laundry room and the usb ports on the back of the mobo weren't easily reachable. I had added a usb extension cord to my unraid server and pugged it into the back of a usb keystone. In the front of that keystone I had my unraid flash drive plugged in. That apparently doesn't work well. After moving the usb to the ports directly in the back of the unraid server's mobo I have a stable system once again.
